Osho and Julie’s story began in September 2019, when they were both swiping through potential mates on OKCupid.com. They decided that they liked what they saw on each other’s profiles, swiped “right,” and became a match (made in heaven!).

For those of you with online dating experience, you know that every match is hit-or-miss and the vast majority of matches that materialize into an actual date tend to fizzle out as quickly as they began. However, Osho’s introductory message to Julie set him apart from other potential suitors right away:

Julie was impressed with Osho’s response to the troll bait she included within her otherwise normal set of profile photos. They continued to chat for a few days and eventually decided to meet for their first date at Turtle Swamp Brewery in Jamaica Plain, MA on October 11th, 2019.

During this first meeting, they instantly connected through their shared sense of humor and affinity for bar hopping around Centre Street. Osho and Julie fell for each other quickly in the following months.

On New Year’s Day 2020, Osho asked Julie to be his girlfriend over breakfast at Ula Café in JP. Julie emphatically replied, “yes!!!” and she shed a couple of happy tears into her B-Sandwich (a “community favorite” according to Ula Café’s online menu).

As we all know, 2020 was a difficult year for a lot of reasons. The pandemic will go down in history as – among other things – a period when many time-tested, long-term relationships sank or swam. However, the pandemic only made Julie and Osho’s love for each other stronger as they learned that they could wholeheartedly support each other during the most challenging times. Osho and Julie still had fun together and made each other smile even when it felt like the world was ending.

In August 2021, Julie and Osho moved into their first apartment together in Brighton’s Oak Square, where they continue to reside today. They have welcomed many friends and family members into their home over the years and they have built a beautiful, peaceful life together.

On the morning of New Year’s Day 2024 – exactly four years after Osho and Julie made their relationship official – Osho convinced a very sleepy Julie to leave the house so he could pull off his elaborate engagement surprise and get down on one knee in front of Ula Café to ask Julie to be his wife. Jaimie and Nick (cherished pals of the bride and groom) hopped out of their car like paparazzi to collect audiovisual evidence of the event, which was much appreciated, because Julie was so overwhelmed with joy that she “blacked out” when accepting Osho’s proposal.

We feel immense gratitude for all of the love and support you’ve all given us over the past four years, and we love all of you beyond words.

We are so excited to spend a magical weekend with you all in Fabulous Las Vegas, where we will laugh, dance, share wonderful food and drinks, engage in some mischievous fun/मस्ती, and most importantly, create incredible memories that will last a lifetime.
